Jialu Science and Innovation, in collaboration with think-tank experts, published a theoretical article in the "Suzhou Daily" to decode the practice of new industrialization in Wujiang
Recently, Chen Lei, the secretary of the Party branch of Jialu (Suzhou) Technology Industry Development Co., Ltd. and chairman of Jialu Holdings, together with Zhang Kai, an expert from the Guocai Think Tank of Gusu Laboratory, published a commentary titled "Exploring the Spiritual Code of Endogenous Development - Observations on the Wujiang Experience from the Perspective of New Industrialization" in the "Suzhou Daily". Based on local industrial practices, the commentary dissects the distinctive development path of Wujiang that sets it apart from other regions in Suzhou.
The Zhangjiagang spirit, the Kunshan path, and the park experience constitute the "three magic weapons" for Suzhou's development. Unlike Kunshan's development model driven by foreign investment and international cooperation in parks, Wujiang has embarked on an endogenous development path with local private economy as the mainstay. Here, the private economy is robust, listed companies are clustered, and advanced manufacturing categories are complete. Instead of relying on oversized projects and short-term financing to achieve leapfrogging, it relies on the long-term resonance of multiple forces from government, enterprises, and talents to grow into an industrial highland with global competitiveness.
The article outlines four core logics that underpin Wujiang's continuous iteration:
1. Industrial entities: Long-term commitment to staying on the right track
Wujiang entrepreneurs have generally been deeply involved in their specialized industries for two to three decades, following a complete growth path of "OEM - independent research - setting standards - building platforms". The pragmatic nature of entrepreneurs, coupled with the local government's governance style of "emphasizing services and minimizing intervention", has created a stable and long-term environment for industrial development.
II. Element allocation: Efficient circulation with four-chain synergy
A coordinated evolution mechanism of industrial chain, talent chain, innovation chain, and service chain has been formed locally. Industrial upgrading gives rise to talent demand, talent agglomeration promotes industrial quality improvement, and industrial development drives the growth of professional service industries. The low communication cost and rapid response between government and enterprises are intuitive manifestations of a high-quality business environment.

Currently, various regions are competing to cultivate new productive forces. The endogenous development model of Wujiang holds great reference value for many ordinary county regions across the country. The article proposes that Wujiang is currently at a critical stage of transitioning from a "major industrial area" to a "strong innovation area". Systematically refining the development experience of Wujiang is not only a review of the local industrial history, but also enriches the spiritual lineage of regional development in Suzhou, providing a practical example for the development of county regions on the Chinese path to modernization.
